On the morning of July 28, 2025, a four-member delegation led by Jiang Wengong, Vice Dean of the First Clinical Medical College of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, Wang Wentao, Director of the Teaching Department, Ma Jinhuo, Director of the Student Affairs Office, and Fan Qiliang, Person-in-charge of Practical Teaching, visited our hospital for clinical teaching inspection. Mo Yaxian, Party Secretary of the hospital, Zhang Xu, President, Wu Haibin, Vice President, staff of the Science & Education Department, directors and secretaries of all teaching and research sections, as well as clinical preceptors attended the exchange forum.
At the forum, participants from both sides introduced themselves. Party Secretary Mo Yaxian extended a warm welcome to all university experts. She emphasized that the hospital has always prioritized clinical teaching. A series of measures including strengthened faculty training, improved teaching regulations and optimized teaching support have been implemented to ensure standardized and orderly teaching with zero teaching incidents. For the upcoming training of the new batch of "3+2" program students, the hospital will further streamline teaching procedures, elevate teaching quality and advance teaching performance to live up to the trust of the university and students.
Vice Dean Jiang Wengong expressed sincere gratitude for the hospital’s warm reception and spoke highly of its teaching work. He stressed that as a key teaching base of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, Songgang People's Hospital adheres to rigorous academic standards and delivers solid practical training for medical students. The well-established clinical teaching system creates premium practical environments for students. Standardized teaching administration and innovative teaching models comprehensively improve students’ clinical thinking and practical skills, which is instrumental to cultivating high-caliber medical talents for the new era.
Zhang Xiaoting, Person-in-charge of the Science & Education Department, delivered a detailed report covering teaching administration, theoretical study progress and clinical internship arrangements, stating that the hospital centers its teaching work on fostering medical students’ clinical thinking.
Subsequently, Vice Dean Jiang Wengong and the delegation held a discussion with 23 interns. They reviewed the students’ Internship Assessment Manual and Medical Record Writing Manual and offered detailed comments on their contents. Interns spoke actively to share their gains and insights during internships, and expressed heartfelt thanks for the practical opportunities and patient guidance provided by preceptors.
After the forum, all attendees observed a mini lecture on gynecology on site. Taking typical common gynecological cases as the starting point, the preceptor adopted diversified teaching methods including videos, images and case analysis to elaborate thoroughly on the diagnosis and treatment approaches for prevalent gynecological diseases, with interns engaging actively in discussions.
Wang Wentao, Director of the Teaching Department, praised the mini lecture highly. He remarked that this student-centered heuristic teaching model helps students consolidate theoretical knowledge and develop clinical thinking, laying a solid foundation for their future medical careers. He suggested the hospital continuously promote such interactive teaching modes to further upgrade clinical preceptorship quality.
Through forums, class observation and site visits during this inspection, the expert group from Guangdong Pharmaceutical University conducted a comprehensive evaluation of Songgang People's Hospital’s teaching administration, teaching resources and learning environments, fully affirming the hospital’s teaching capacity and management standards. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in the future to jointly advance the development of medical education.
