On June 16, after rigorous preliminary screening and expert review, Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital was officially designated a Compliant Center of Lifestyle Medicine Alliance, National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases (NCCD). This milestone marks a solid stride forward for the hospital in shifting its service focus from disease treatment to comprehensive health management.

Nowadays, the public has reached a consensus on the importance of healthy lifestyles, and lifestyle medicine has become a key disciplinary pillar advancing the Healthy China Strategy. The Lifestyle Medicine Alliance under the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases is a non-profit academic organization. Its missions include upgrading disease intervention capabilities of relevant disciplines (sports medicine, nutrition, psychology, sleep medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, etc.), standardizing lifestyle intervention management, co-developing shared research databases, and facilitating the local development of lifestyle medicine in China.
The hospital’s Physical Examination Center, the core carrier of this certified center, was founded in 2010 with a current floor area of 800 square meters. A new 2,500-square-meter venue will be put into operation by the end of 2026. Equipped with advanced devices including color Doppler ultrasound scanners and arterial elasticity detectors, the center delivers one-stop physical examinations and chronic disease risk screening. Equipment upgrades completed in 2024 have expanded its service scope from simple disease screening to whole-cycle health management.

Moving forward, drawing on the alliance’s high-quality resources in professional technology, academic research and education, the hospital will integrate AI technology into health management, launch a dedicated lifestyle medicine column on its health education platform, build a specialized lifestyle medicine center, and recruit more professional practitioners. These efforts will further standardize diagnosis and treatment, popularize and innovate lifestyle medicine in the local area, strengthen prevention and control of chronic diseases dominated by cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and metabolic disorders, and better meet the diverse health demands of residents.
