Many people have relatives or acquaintances who are heavy drinkers: they get intoxicated easily and look drowsy all day. Heavy alcohol use depletes vitamin B in the body, so high-dose vitamin B supplementation is critical. It can effectively halt and reverse acute neurocognitive damage. Sedatives and hypnotics may be prescribed to ease withdrawal symptoms such as agitation, impulsivity and limb tremors. Antipsychotics control psychiatric manifestations like hallucinations during alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

In recent years, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has been widely recommended internationally for patients with alcoholic dementia. Supporting behavioral and cognitive training consolidates sobriety, prevents relapse, and improves long-term quality of life. Prior to any intervention, specialists must conduct a comprehensive physical assessment of all internal organs to guarantee safe and effective alcohol withdrawal management.
