1. The threshold for flexible utilization of personal medical insurance accounts has been abolished.
2. Expenses eligible for payment via personal accounts are listed below:
(1) Out-of-pocket medical expenses incurred by the enrollee, spouse, parents, children, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, elder brothers, younger brothers, elder sisters and younger sisters for medical treatment at designated medical institutions.
(2) Out-of-pocket costs for purchasing medicines, medical devices and medical consumables at designated retail pharmacies for the enrollee, spouse, parents, children, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, elder brothers, younger brothers, elder sisters and younger sisters. A monthly cap of RMB 300 applies to expenses on medical devices and medical consumables.
(3) Individual premiums for resident basic medical insurance paid by the enrollee’s spouse, parents, children, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, elder brothers, younger brothers, elder sisters and younger sisters.
(4) Supplementary premiums for employee basic medical insurance if the enrollee has reached the statutory retirement age yet fails to meet the minimum required contribution years.
