Possesses extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, neuroimmune diseases, spinal cord disorders, peripheral neuropathies and neuromuscular diseases. Served as chief editor of nine monographs including Parkinson’s Disease and Modern Therapeutics of Neurology — Basic and Clinical. Has published more than 100 research papers focusing on Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders. Presided over 21 national and provincial research projects, with 5 ongoing programs funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Won the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Achievements Award from the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award from the former Ministry of Health, and two Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards. Supervised 5 postdoctoral researchers, 35 graduated doctoral students and 28 graduated master students.
