The Emergency Dept of Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital covers an area of around 800 square meters, with separate Emergency Internal Medicine and Emergency Surgery units. It has 6 resuscitation beds, including 2 trauma unit beds and 1 resuscitation unit bed. The department has 65 permanent medical and nursing staff in total, among whom there are 21 physicians, including 7 associate senior physicians:

12 Emergency Internal Medicine Physicians: 4 associate senior physicians, 7 attending physicians, 2 postgraduates with master’s degrees;

9 Emergency Surgery Physicians: 3 associate senior physicians, 6 attending physicians.

There are 44 nurses, including 1 chief senior nurse and 24 nurses with intermediate professional titles.

The department is equipped with multi-functional resuscitation rooms, treatment rooms, observation rooms, infusion rooms, as well as independent chest pain consultation rooms and stroke consultation rooms. A full range of advanced emergency equipment is available, including defibrillators, electrocardiogram monitors, automatic gastric lavage machines, electric sputum aspirators, portable ventilators, electrocardiographs, rapid blood glucose meters, bedside B-ultrasound scanners and automatic cardiopulmonary resuscitation machines. An integrated emergency service system covering pre-hospital emergency care, in-hospital treatment and critical illness management has been established.

The department receives approximately 150,000 patients annually, including around 2,000 critically ill patients. The emergency team consists of skilled, experienced medical professionals recruited nationwide. Both the Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center under the department are nationally certified. Equipped with state-of-the-art emergency medical technologies, the team delivers professional, rapid, high-quality and efficient emergency treatment for patients suffering from various critical conditions such as shock, asthma, respiratory failure, myocardial infarction, heart failure, cerebrovascular accidents, massive gastrointestinal hemorrhage and poisoning, as well as severe injuries including acute abdominal disorders, traumas, multiple injuries and fractures.

The hospital was designated a Grade III Trauma Center construction unit in 2024, which has built a streamlined green treatment channel for severe trauma patients and significantly reduced mortality and disability rates. Integrated management of the ICU and Emergency Dept has been implemented since 2023, bringing advanced rescue techniques such as ECMO combined with CPR forward to the frontline emergency area, greatly improving rescue quality and survival rates.
