The Operating Room & Anesthesiology Dept of Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital is a clinical department integrating medical services, teaching and scientific research, functioning as a modern anesthesia and surgical center featuring advanced equipment, sophisticated techniques, standardized services and sound quality control systems.
The department has a total workforce of 53 anesthesiologists and operating room nurses, including 4 Associate Chief Anesthesiologists, 15 Attending Anesthesiologists, 1 Resident Anesthesiologist and 2 Anesthesia Nurses. The nursing team consists of 1 Associate Chief Nurse, 17 Nurse-in-charges, 12 Senior Nurses and 1 Registered Nurse, among whom 1 is a certified operating room specialist nurse of the Chinese Nursing Association and 5 are Guangdong Provincial certified operating room specialist nurses. The team has received numerous honors including the Shenzhen Outstanding Nursing Team, Bao'an Advanced Nursing Collective and Hospital Excellent Nursing Collective, and has been awarded the Shenzhen Women Civilization Demonstration Post. Six provincial, municipal and district-level research projects have been approved, and more than 30 professional academic papers have been published. It maintains a medical consortium partnership with the Pain Management Dept of Nanshan District People's Hospital, a national key specialty.
The department is equipped with 11 laminar flow operating rooms, including 3 Class 100, 3 Class 1000, 4 Class 10,000 and 1 positive-negative pressure convertible operating room. Advanced imported anesthesia equipment is available, including high-end Drager and Datex-Ohmeda anesthesia workstations, multi-functional vital sign monitors, BIS depth of anesthesia monitors, nerve stimulator locators, autologous blood recovery systems and invasive blood pressure monitoring systems. High-grade surgical equipment covers STORZ high-definition hysteroscopy and laparoscopy systems, Mindray 3D and 4K laparoscopes, ZEISS surgical microscopes, C-arm fluoroscopy systems, Johnson & Johnson ultrasonic scalpels and holmium laser lithotripters.
In terms of clinical services, the department proficiently performs general anesthesia, one-lung ventilation anesthesia, neuraxial anesthesia, peripheral nerve block and other anesthetic techniques, providing perioperative anesthesia management for patients of all age groups. It boasts extensive clinical experience in anesthesia for critically ill patients, patients with multiple complex comorbidities, elderly patients and pediatric patients. Cooperating with Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic & Hernia Surgery, Gastrointestinal & Anorectal Surgery, Orthopedics, Hand and Foot Surgery, Neurosurgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Urology, Stomatology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology and other clinical departments, the department supports all elective, emergency, complicated and critical surgeries, with an annual surgical volume of approximately 15,000 cases. Meanwhile, it actively promotes comfort-oriented medical services, offering painless gastroenteroscopy, painless abortion, labor analgesia, postoperative analgesia and chronic pain diagnosis and treatment.
