Oncology Dept of Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital was founded in July 2022. Relying on the medical resources of this Grade III General Hospital, it focuses on standardized diagnosis and treatment as well as full-cycle management of all types of malignant tumors. The department has 26 inpatient beds and has been certified as one of the National Top 500 Grassroots Oncology Nutrition Units. It has built palliative care wards, pain-free wards and anti-emesis wards, and has been designated a pilot ward for humanistic care in Shenzhen. One radiofrequency hyperthermia system is equipped in the department.
The department boasts a professional medical and nursing team, including 1 Associate Chief Physician, 2 Attending Physicians, several specialized nurses, 2 postgraduates and many bachelor’s degree holders. All medical staff have years of experience in medical oncology, and all nurses have received systematic specialized training in oncology, proficient in peri-treatment nursing, venous catheter care and rehabilitation guidance for cancer patients. Scope of Diagnosis and Treatment
The department treats various malignant tumors, including head and neck cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lung cancer, breast cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, renal carcinoma, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial carcinoma and various soft tissue sarcomas.
Available clinical services are as follows:
1. Ultrasound or CT-guided percutaneous biopsy of lung, liver and pelvic/abdominal masses
2. Chemotherapy: neoadjuvant chemotherapy, adjuvant chemotherapy, conversion therapy and palliative chemotherapy
3. Targeted therapy: targeted drugs for confirmed biomarkers and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapy
4. Immunotherapy: administration of immune checkpoint inhibitors
5. Endocrine therapy: pharmaceutical treatment for hormone-dependent tumors such as breast cancer and prostate cancer
6. Local radiofrequency hyperthermia for malignant tumors
7. Intra-cavitary chemotherapy and intrathecal drug administration
