The Stomatology Dept of Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital integrates medical care, teaching and scientific research, consisting of an inpatient ward and two outpatient clinics at the main hospital and Luotian Community Health Service Center. It provides comprehensive dental services covering general dentistry, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental implantation, orthodontics, prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
The department employs 23 dentists, including 2 Associate Chief Physicians, 14 Attending Physicians and 7 Resident Physicians, together with 1 radiological technologist and 7 dental nurses. Twelve dentists hold master’s degrees and graduated from well-known universities such as Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, Wuhan University and Sichuan University. Long-term cooperative ties have been established with the Stomatological Hospital Affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University, the Department of Stomatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University and the Department of Stomatology of Shenzhen Children’s Hospital. Medical staff are regularly sent to specialized dental hospitals nationwide for advanced training to continuously upgrade clinical service quality. The department now serves as a teaching base for stomatology majors of Foshan University, Zhaoqing Medical College and Hunan University of Medicine.
The main hospital outpatient clinic is equipped with 22 dental comprehensive treatment chairs, and Luotian Community Health Service Center is furnished with another 6 chairs. Advanced dental equipment is available, including cone-beam CT, panoramic X-ray machine, cephalometric locator, intraoral X-ray unit, dental operating microscope, implant unit, ultrasonic bone scalpel, dental micromotor system, electrosurgical unit, ultrasonic scaler, periodontal treatment device, painless anesthesia apparatus, endodontic motor, warm gutta-percha obturation system and dental laser therapy unit.
The inpatient ward has 6 beds, where Grade I, II, III surgeries and partial Grade IV oral and maxillofacial operations are performed, including fixation of jaw fractures, resection of maxillofacial tumors and cleft lip and palate repair.
While focusing on developing advanced dental techniques and improving medical quality, the department adheres to the people-oriented service philosophy, implements high-quality service standards and prioritizes patients’ interests. It attracts a large number of patients from surrounding areas including Shenzhen and Dongguan.
