The Pediatrics Dept of Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital was founded in 2007.

As a comprehensive pediatric department integrating medical care, scientific research, teaching, disease prevention and healthcare, it consists of three functional units: pediatric ward, pediatric outpatient clinic and pediatric emergency room. There are 17 physicians on staff, including 1 Chief Physician, 4 Associate Chief Physicians, 12 Attending Physicians and 2 postgraduates. A sound clinical diagnosis and treatment system has been established to meet the medical demands of common pediatric illnesses and complicated specialized disorders across all age groups of children. The department undertakes multiple core responsibilities covering diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently-occurring childhood diseases, emergency rescue of critically ill children, and children's growth promotion for residents of Songgang, Yanluo Subdistricts and surrounding areas.

Routine examinations and treatments including pediatric fiberoptic bronchoscopy, pulmonary function test and fractional exhaled nitric oxide detection are available. The department boasts strong capacity in managing pediatric critical illnesses and has vigorously developed two sub-specialties in recent years: pediatric respiratory medicine and pediatric growth and development. Specialized clinics for children's growth & development and pediatric asthma, as well as a pulmonary function testing room have been set up, delivering high-standard care for pediatric respiratory disorders and growth and development-related conditions.
