The Neurosurgery Dept became an independent specialty in 2008 and currently has 45 inpatient beds, including 5 beds in the specialized intensive care unit. It also takes charge of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber.
The department boasts a hard-working, positive and resilient team with a total of 32 medical and nursing staff: 1 Chief Physician, 1 Chief Nurse, 2 Associate Chief Physicians, 4 Attending Physicians and 1 Resident Physician, among whom 4 hold master’s degrees.
Patients treated in the department mainly suffer from craniocerebral trauma and acute cerebrovascular diseases. Routine surgeries include emergency management of craniocerebral injury, cerebral hemorrhage, aneurysm resection, cerebrovascular malformation correction, resection of various intracranial tumors and neurointerventional therapy. The department undertakes diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders for nearly one million residents of Songgang Subdistrict and surrounding communities.
