1. Center Overview
Founded in 1998, Hongxing Community Health Service Center consists of General Practice, Pediatric Healthcare Room, Immunization Registration & Vaccination Room, Clinical Lab and Ultrasound Room. The center has a total of 31 staff members, including 9 general practitioners, 4 public health physicians, 11 community nurses, 1 ultrasound physician, 1 radiologist, 1 medical laboratory technician, 2 pharmacy staff and 2 supporting personnel. The center undertakes basic public health services for Hongxing Community and meets the medical demands of nearby residents.
2. Service Scope
2.1 Clinical Services
General practice and traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment services are available for residents. A full spectrum of common community diseases can be managed, minor general surgical operations are performed, and rehabilitation services are provided for patients with severe illnesses.
2.2 Public Health Services
1. Personal health file establishment: Create individual health records and deliver continuous health management services for residents.
2. Health education: Conduct diversified health education activities to improve residents’ health literacy.
3. Immunization services: Provide routine vaccination for children aged 0–6 in accordance with immunization schedules, and offer selected vaccines for adults.
4. Pediatric healthcare: Deliver standardized physical examinations and health guidance for children aged 0–3 within the service coverage area.
5. Maternal health management: Carry out early pregnancy screening for women of childbearing age and full-cycle health management for pregnant and postpartum women.
6. Elderly health management: Provide annual free physical examinations and regular health management for residents aged 65 and above.
7. Health management for hypertensive and Type 2 diabetic patients: One free comprehensive physical examination is offered each year; four free fingertip blood glucose tests are available annually for Type 2 diabetic patients.
8. Health management for patients with severe mental disorders: Deliver routine health management, assist community service stations in handling emergencies involving patients with severe mental disorders, and arrange one free physical examination every year.
9. Tuberculosis patient management: Screen suspected tuberculosis cases and arrange referrals; implement long-term standardized health management for confirmed tuberculosis patients within the community.
10. TCM health management services: Provide a variety of appropriate TCM therapies, plus targeted TCM health services for children aged 0–36 months and seniors over 65 years old.
11. Infectious disease prevention and control: Timely report infectious diseases detected in daily diagnosis and treatment as required, and assist disease control departments in responding to public health emergencies.
12. Active surveillance of foodborne diseases: Promptly report foodborne diseases identified during routine diagnosis and treatment in compliance with relevant regulations.
13. Free contraceptive supply service: Equipped with self-service and manual distribution counters to provide free contraceptives and supporting consultation services for community residents.
14. HIV prevention and control: Disseminate HIV prevention knowledge to community residents, and provide HIV-related consultation and referral services.
2.3 Family Doctor Contracted Services
A complete set of public health management and primary medical services are provided, including contract signing, health file establishment, health assessment, intervention, tracking and follow-up visits. On the basis of basic medical care, contracted residents can receive personalized proactive health management services centered on health management, including early physical condition assessment, timely access to health information, categorized initiative care and thoughtful home visiting services.
2.4 Regular Specialist Outpatient Clinics
Two Associate Chief TCM Physicians, one Associate Chief Physician of Rehabilitation Medicine and one Associate Chief Physician of Pediatrics provide regular outpatient services at the center:
Du Zhensheng, Associate Chief TCM Physician, Doctor of Medicine, graduated from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in June 2012, and serves as a standing committee member of the Hepatology Branch of Guangdong Provincial Association of Chinese Medicine. Skilled in treating refractory diseases in internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics and dermatology, with particular expertise in gastrointestinal disorders, hepatitis, alopecia, acne, eczema, urticaria, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, prostatitis, infertility for both males and females, neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain, lumbar muscle strain, dizziness, cerebral infarction, facial paralysis, acupuncture and physical therapy.
Xu Juan, Associate Chief TCM Physician, holds a Master’s degree from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (graduated in 2007) and is an on-the-job doctoral candidate in medicine. Proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases across internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and pediatrics, and specializes in integrated TCM and Western medicine therapy for refractory internal diseases of the liver, gallbladder, spleen and stomach as well as gynecological illnesses.
Liu Yueping, Associate Chief Physician with 25 years of professional experience in rehabilitation medicine. Specializes in pediatric rehabilitation, postpartum rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation and postoperative orthopedic rehabilitation.
Tong Heping, Associate Chief Physician and Director of Pediatric Outpatient Department, with more than 30 years of pediatric clinical experience. Skilled in diagnosing and treating common and frequently-occurring pediatric diseases including chronic cough, recurrent abdominal pain, epistaxis, dyspepsia, frequent micturition and anorexia.
