1. Center Overview

Bitou Community is located at the westernmost tip of Shenzhen, covering an area of 2.5 square kilometers. It has 220 registered households with over 650 registered residents and around 10,000 permanent residents in total. The center’s medical team consists of 3 general practitioners, 1 public health physician and 5 general practice nurses. Functional rooms include Health Education Room, Immunization Room, Pediatric Healthcare Room, Women’s Healthcare Room, General Practice Consulting Room, Examination Room, Treatment Room, Pharmacy and TCM Rehabilitation Room. All resident health records are managed via computer network systems.

The center is equipped with blood cell analyzer, urine analyzer, electrocardiograph, gastric lavage machine, spectrum therapeutic apparatus, electroacupuncture device, general diagnostic treatment instrument and patient monitor. Adhering to the tenet of "Patient-centered, quality-oriented, wholeheartedly serving patients" and the service philosophy of "High-quality, efficient and harmonious care", the center establishes health files for residents and offers a full range of people-friendly services including a 24-hour health hotline, two-way referral and home-based hospital beds. 2. Service Scope

2.1 Clinical Services

The center provides diagnosis and treatment in general practice, gynecology and TCM rehabilitation. It manages various common community diseases, performs minor general surgical and routine gynecological procedures, and delivers rehabilitation care for patients with severe illnesses.

2.2 Public Health Services

1. Personal Health File Establishment: Create individual health records and provide continuous health management services for residents.

2. Health Education: Carry out diversified health education activities to raise residents’ health literacy.

3. Immunization Services: Provide routine vaccination for children aged 0–6 in accordance with immunization schedules, and supply selected vaccines for adults.

4. Pediatric Healthcare: Offer standardized physical examinations and health guidance for children aged 0–3 within the service coverage area.

5. Maternal Health Management: Conduct early pregnancy screening for women of childbearing age and full-cycle health management for pregnant and postpartum women.

6. Elderly Health Management: Provide annual free physical examinations and regular health management for residents aged 65 and above.

7. Health Management for Hypertensive and Type 2 Diabetic Patients: Arrange one free physical examination per year; patients with Type 2 diabetes can receive four free fingertip blood glucose tests annually.

8. Health Management for Patients with Severe Mental Disorders: Deliver regular health management, assist community service stations in handling emergencies involving mentally ill patients, and arrange one free physical examination each year.

9. Tuberculosis Patient Management: Screen suspected tuberculosis cases and arrange referrals; implement long-term health management for confirmed tuberculosis patients in the community.

10. TCM Health Management Services: Supply multiple appropriate TCM therapies, as well as special TCM health services for children aged 0–36 months and seniors over 65 years old.

11. Infectious Disease Prevention and Control: Timely report infectious diseases detected in daily diagnosis and treatment per regulations, and assist disease control departments in handling public health emergencies.

12. Active Surveillance of Foodborne Diseases: Promptly report foodborne diseases found in routine medical work as required.

13. Free Contraceptive Distribution Service: Set up self-service and manual distribution counters to provide free contraceptives and relevant consultation for residents.

14. HIV Prevention and Control: Popularize HIV prevention knowledge, and offer HIV-related consultation and referral services.

2.3 Family Doctor Contracted Services

The center provides a full set of public health and basic medical services including contract management, health file creation, health assessment, intervention, tracking and follow-up visits. On top of basic medical care, contracted residents can access personalized proactive health management services, including early health assessment, timely health information notification, categorized initiative care and thoughtful home-based services.

2.4 Specialist On-site Consultation

Associate Chief Physician Liu Yueping from the hospital’s Rehabilitation Medicine Department holds clinics at the center every Wednesday morning and noon. She specializes in pediatric rehabilitation, postpartum rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation and postoperative orthopedic rehabilitation. She serves as a committee member of the ICU Pulmonary Rehabilitation Committee under the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Special Committee of China Rehabilitation Association of the Disabled, and a committee member of the 1st Respiratory Rehabilitation Branch of Guangdong Rehabilitation Medicine Association.
