On October 16, a highly simulated scenario workshop on Nursing Cooperation in Amniotic Fluid Embolism Rescue was successfully completed in Operating Room No.1 of Building 3 of our hospital amid an intense and orderly atmosphere. Led by Teacher Huang Zhimin from the Operating Room and based on the BOPPPS teaching model, the workshop provided nursing interns with an immersive learning experience integrating theoretical grounding and practical training.
Adopting the BOPPPS teaching framework, the interns systematically established a knowledge system covering clinical manifestations, condition monitoring and rescue coordination of amniotic fluid embolism. In the highly restored operating room setting, the interns responded rapidly and calmly to sudden simulated emergencies under teachers’ guidance. They translated classroom knowledge into practical operations, with their emergency response capabilities and teamwork skills fully tempered under high-pressure scenarios.
After the simulation exercise, Teacher Huang Zhimin guided the interns through an in-depth review session, analyzing key decisions, operational details and core teamwork points throughout the rescue process item by item. The interns shared their insights as follows:
"This is my first time experiencing the intense pressure of a life-or-death situation in simulation. Team division of labor, medication administration sequence, equipment operation... The entire rescue procedure has been firmly memorized."
"During the review, the teacher emphasized that verbal medical orders from physicians must be repeated aloud for confirmation before implementation. At that moment, I truly realized that efficient teamwork and medication safety rely on closed-loop communication of critical information."
"The whole learning journey is vivid and profound, shifting from merely knowing knowledge during preliminary study, to putting it into practice in the simulation, and finally gaining deep understanding after the review."
Teacher Huang Zhimin stated that witnessing the interns’ rapid growth under pressure—from initial nervousness to fluent expression during the review—is the greatest reward as an educator. Scenario simulation serves as a mirror reflecting real clinical conditions, while post-simulation review acts as a ladder driving continuous progress. It is hoped that this experience will build solid confidence for the interns’ future clinical practice.
