From November 5 to 6, 2021, the 7th Guangdong Provincial Training Course on New Advances in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgeries, co-sponsored by Shenzhen Medical Association, Gynecology Committee of Bao'an Medical Association and Shenzhen Bao'an District Songgang People's Hospital, was successfully held in our hospital. Due to pandemic prevention and control requirements, the whole training course adopted live online streaming, attracting more than 10,000 online participants.

Distinguished top experts were invited to deliver lectures online, including Professor Yao Shuzhong, Professor He Mian, Professor Liu Junxiu and Professor Liang Yanchun from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University; Professor Wang Yifeng from Zhujiang Hospital, Southern Medical University; Professor Liang Zhiqing from Southwest Hospital (Chongqing); Professor Li Jundong from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. More than ten gynecological specialists from Shenzhen also gathered online, such as Professor Zhou Xiaping from Bao'an Maternity and Child Care Hospital, Professor Lu Anwei from Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University and Professor Luo Guangnan from Luohu People's Hospital, bringing an academic feast on minimally invasive gynecological surgery advances for all participants.

The two-day training featured abundant and brilliant sessions including live surgical demonstrations, online surgical teaching, academic lectures and technical promotion. A total of six live operation broadcasts demonstrated sophisticated surgical skills. Centered on new advances in minimally invasive gynecology, specialists shared cutting-edge diagnosis and treatment concepts, as well as complicated and rare clinical cases combined with innovative management experience. The covered topics included surgeries for cervical cancer, ovarian cancer and other gynecological tumors, genital malformations, scar pregnancy, uterine prolapse, adenomyosis, prevention of intraoperative ureteral and intestinal injuries, plus practical experience in robot-assisted minimally invasive gynecological operations.

Chen Guangyuan, Chairperson of this training course, Director of the Gynecology Committee of Bao'an Medical University and Director of the Gynecology Dept of our hospital, stated that women play an important role in social development, and safeguarding women's health is the lifelong pursuit of all gynecologists. The training aims to build a platform for academic exchange, enabling leading specialists to discuss research outcomes and share cutting-edge professional progress with peers, so as to jointly elevate the overall diagnosis and treatment capacity of gynecology and benefit women.
