On the afternoon of June 26, 2019, head nurses and core nursing staff of the pediatric departments from all hospitals in Bao'an District gathered at the Pediatric Department of our hospital for exchanges. The meeting was presided over by Head Nurse Zhang Xinling of the Pediatric Department.

First, Director Zhang Xueqin of the Pediatric Department gave a lecture on Microbial Specimen Collection and Transportation for Pediatric Respiratory Tract Infections. Low cooperation among child patients leads to low positive rates of specimen collection, which has become a tough problem for all pediatric departments. Through Director Zhang’s detailed explanation of collection procedures and correct sampling sites, all participants gained a thorough understanding of standard and effective specimen collection methods.

Later, Head Nurse Wang Fengmei of the Pediatric Department shared nursing experience of Modified NCPAP in Pediatric Practice. NCPAP (Nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) is widely applied in clinical practice with remarkable curative effects, simple operations and high acceptance among guardians. Participants held heated discussions on operational skills and solutions to practical difficulties related to NCPAP.

After the lectures, all attendees sat together to exchange insights on daily nursing work. They shared professional experience and skills openly, learning from each other for mutual improvement.
