The opening ceremony and the first theoretical lecture of the 2019 General Practitioner On-the-Job Training Course of Songgang People's Hospital were successfully held in the conference room on the 10th floor of the Outpatient Building on the morning of April 12. He Zhenbin, Director of the Community Healthcare Management Center of Bao'an District Health Bureau, Chen Guihong, Party Secretary and President of the Hospital, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. More than one hundred clinical trainees from several hospitals across the district participated in the event.

Chen Guihong, Party Secretary and President of the Hospital, extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests and trainees, and congratulated the launch of the training course. She pointed out that the hospital had stepped up efforts in the development of general practice disciplines since 2018 and pushed forward the construction of the General Medicine Center. The hospital has carried out practices and explorations in general clinical work, teaching, scientific research, and collaboration between general and specialized departments. She encouraged specialists to receive general practitioner vocational training to learn, understand and master general clinical thinking, aiming to cultivate outstanding clinical talents with general practice concepts and professional skills and reserve teaching staff for general medicine, so as to facilitate the implementation of tiered medical care. Guided by the municipal and district health development strategy of "Strengthen Grassroots Institutions, Build High-level Medical Platforms", the hospital will attach equal importance to the development of both general and specialized medicine.

He Zhenbin, Director of the Community Healthcare Management Center of Bao'an District Health Bureau, delivered a speech at the ceremony. He elaborated on the development of community healthcare in Bao'an District from multiple perspectives including the district's general profile, major reforms of community healthcare in recent years, innovative performance appraisal and distribution systems, and the development of an internationalized community healthcare system in Bao'an. He encouraged trainees to cherish this learning opportunity, acquire the competency required for general practitioner posts through systematic training, and better meet residents' healthcare demands.

Xu Yan from the Community Healthcare Management Center of Bao'an District Health Bureau led trainees in studying major national policies on community healthcare issued in recent years, deepening trainees' understanding of community healthcare and general practitioner vocational training.

Following the opening ceremony, lecturers from Shenzhen Health Family Planning Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center delivered theoretical lessons to all trainees.
