The Department of Information Statistics established on September 5,2005, and its predecessor was the Statistics Office set up in 1990 at Shenzhen Bao'an People's Hospital. Currently, the department has 4 staff members, including 2 with doctorate or master's degrees, all of whom hold the "Statistics Professional Qualification Certificate" issued by the National Bureau of Statistics.
All staff members of the Department of Information Statistics carry out routine statistical work in accordance with the "Statistics Law of the People's Republic of China," completing the collection, review, uploading, and archiving of data related to the basic operation of the hospital, medical quality and safety, medical technology, diagnosis and treatment information, and clinical drug monitoring, ensuring that the data is authentic, reliable, and traceable.
The specialized statistical work currently being carried out includes: statistics (research)outpatient services (available every Wednesday afternoon to provide healthcare workers and follow-up patients with services such as research design, project investigation, and data analyzing);designing and maintenance of statistical robots (RPA)(optimizing business processes between statistics and related functional departments, achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement through AI + automated software scripts);statistical teaching and training (evidence-based medicine, international statistical classification, statistical analysis software, etc.);and statistics and data-related scientific research.
There is currently one senior statistician and one statistician in the department. Within five years, the department has trained four senior statisticians for the hospital. The head of the department is also the first senior statistician cultivated by Bao'an District,Shenzhen, and the first professional with a senior title in medical record information technology in Shenzhen. Since 1995,the department has been teaching interns from various majors such as epidemiology and health statistics, pharmaceutical information, health management, and electronic and information engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, Guangdong Medical University, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Guangzhou Medical University, Southern Medical University, Shenzhen University, Binzhou Medical College, Hainan Medical College, and Xiaogan Health School, with more than a hundred interns trained. Since 2001,the department has obtained 19 provincial, municipal, and district-level research projects, of which 15 have been completed. The department is currently serving as the director committee unit for the Hospital Statistics Branch of the Guangdong Provincial Biostatistics Society and the Medical Record Statistics Professional Committee of the Bao'an District Medical Association in Shenzhen.
"Green work and smart statistics" is the construction policy of the Department of Information Statistics. Creating a key specialty in" medical record statistics information technology" is the development goal of the department. The departmental culture nurtured by all staff members, "empathy, co-creation, sharing, and harmony" is contributing to the "Healthy China" strategy with a "big statistics" perspective, interdisciplinary vision, self-motivation, and going with the trend, together with hospital colleagues and peers in the medical record statistics information field.
