The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Department of Shenzhen Bao'an People's Hospital is a specialty department with traditional Chinese medicine features in Shenzhen, a flagship department for the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in non-TCM hospitals in Shenzhen, and a model post for women's civilization in Shenzhen. There are 31 medical staffs in the TCM department currently, including 19 doctors. Among the doctors of TCM, there are 3 Chief Physicians, 9 Associate Chief Physicians, 1 postdoctoral researcher, 4 doctors with doctorate degrees, 10 with master's degrees, 2 graduate tutors, 1 renowned TCM practitioner in Shenzhen, 1 renowned TCM practitioner in Bao'an District, and 2 guiding teachers for the fifth batch of academic and experiential inheritance of famous TCM experts in Shenzhen.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) ward currently has 35 open beds, admitting patients with common internal diseases such as vertigo, stroke, cough and asthma, gastroenterology, kidney diseases, and patients with neck, shoulder, waist, and leg pain. It employs a combination of TCM and Western medicine for comprehensive treatment, achieving good therapeutic effects. The TCM outpatient department features specialized clinics in TCM internal medicine, geriatrics, liver diseases, orthopedics, and TCM rehabilitation nursing. It offers a variety of TCM therapies, including acupuncture, tuina, warm scraping therapy, Du Meridian moxibustion, fire dragon cupping, ointment, fumigation, plaster application, and herbal foot soaks.
In terms of education, the department undertakes the teaching tasks for the course "Traditional Chinese Medicine" at Guangdong Medical University, as well as internships and job training for medical students from Southern Medical University and other institutions. Regarding scientific research, the department has recently obtained several national, municipal, and district-level research projects, published over 22 SCI papers, over 80 papers in domestic core journals, and edited or co-edited the publication of 4 monographs.
