The Thoracic Surgery Department at Shenzhen Bao'an People's Hospital is one of the hospital's key specialties, distinguished by its elite medical team, advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, and state-of-the-art equipment. It specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic diseases, with particular expertise in the clinical and surgical management of pulmonary nodules and tumors, esophageal tumors, mediastinal diseases, and chest wall deformities. The department is also well-known for its minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Scope of Diagnosis and Treatment
1. Lung Cancer
Early-stage lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, precision surgical resection, and comprehensive treatment including radiotherapy and chemotherapy
2. Esophageal Cancer
Early screening and diagnosis, surgical treatment and postoperative recovery guidance
3. Mediastinal Tumors
Minimally invasive and traditional surgical treatments for benign and malignant mediastinal tumors
4. Chest Trauma
Emergency management of thoracic injuries, including rib fractures, pulmonary contusions, and pneumothorax
5. Thoracic Infections
Diagnosis and treatment of pleuritis, empyema, and pulmonary infections
6. Hyperhidrosis
Minimally invasive surgical treatment, primarily through thoracic sympathectomy
The department is staffed by an experienced and highly skilled team of experts, including professors, chief physicians, and other senior-level professionals. Our team members have extensive clinical experience and unique insights in the fields of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and mediastinal tumors. The department is led by a senior professor, with two chief physicians (one doctoral supervisor and one master's supervisor). The team also includes four attending physicians and one resident physician, all holding master's degrees or higher. The department currently has 32 beds.

Advanced minimally invasive techniques, such as single-port thoracoscopy-assisted thoracic surgery, resulting in smaller incisions, faster recovery, and fewer postoperative complications. A comprehensive treatment approach that combines radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy to provide multidisciplinary, all-encompassing treatment options for patients with malignancies such as lung cancer and esophageal cancer.
