The Cardiovascular Center of Shenzhen Bao'an People's Hospital is a comprehensive institution for cardiovascular diseases, integrating the Department of Cardiology, the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). It covers clinical practice, teaching, and scientific research, and is the best cardiovascular center in western Shenzhen.
The Coronary Intervention Group routinely performs interventional treatments for various acute and critical coronary heart diseases. The Electrophysiology Intervention Group routinely performs atrial fibrillation radiofrequency ablation, supraventricular tachycardia radiofrequency ablation, radiofrequency ablation of ventricular arrhythmias, and left atrial appendage occlusion. The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery routinely performs various minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, including congenital heart disease correction, valve repair and replacement, surgical atrial fibrillation radiofrequency ablation, off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, various aortic surgeries, and surgical procedures for pericardial and cardiomyopathic diseases. The annual total number of interventional treatments and surgeries is over 1,000.
Currently, there are a total of 58 hospital beds, among which 8 are in the CICU. There are 60 medical staff, including 5 chief physicians, 6 associate chief physicians, 10 attending physicians, 2 associate head nurses, and 6 head nurses. Among them, 6 are PhD & MD and 15 are postgraduates. There is 1 electrophysiology expert from the Provincial People's Hospital of Guangdong, and 2 cardiovascular surgery experts from Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
The Cardiovascular Center has now been built into a National Chest Pain Center (Standard Version), a National Hypertension Compliance Center, a National Heart Failure Center (Standard Version), a National Arrhythmia Diagnosis and Treatment Construction Unit, a Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment Center of Bao'an District, Shenzhen. It’s also a Member Unit of the Shenzhen Cardiovascular Disease Quality Control Committee, and a Member Unit of the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Specialty Alliance of the National Cardiovascular Disease Center. For a long time, as the only unit in Shenzhen, it has undertaken the national major clinical research project "Early Screening and Comprehensive Intervention Project for High-risk Groups of Cardiovascular Diseases".
