On August 10, 2025, the country’s first national Sub-center for Experimental Diagnosis of Rheumatic Diseases — Reproductive and Gestational Immunology was officially inaugurated at Shenzhen Bao'an Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Entrusted by Professor Zeng Xiaofeng, Director of the National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases, Professor Hu Chaojun, Director of the Rheumatology and Immunology Laboratory at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, presented the official plaque to the hospital on behalf of the National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases. This milestone marks a leap-forward advancement in the hospital’s capacity for the experimental diagnosis of rheumatic and immune disorders associated with reproduction and pregnancy, and signifies national authoritative recognition of its disciplinary platform development and laboratory testing capabilities.

As a national clinical research center approved by relevant authorities and hosted by Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases aims to build a highland for immunological disease research and promote standardized diagnosis and treatment across the discipline.
At present, the management of reproductive health and pregnancies complicated with autoimmune diseases faces prominent challenges, which require in-depth multidisciplinary collaboration covering reproductive medicine, obstetrics, laboratory medicine, rheumatology and immunology. Standardized and unified clinical pathways are critical to improving the overall diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic and immune diseases.
Having been officially accredited as the sub-center, the hospital will fully connect with high-quality resources from the National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases and further deepen comprehensive cooperation. Leveraging its strengths in featured specialties and complying strictly with relevant construction standards, the hospital will pursue high-quality development in autoimmune disciplines related to reproduction and pregnancy with forward-looking planning and pragmatic measures.
Through technology promotion, talent training and in-depth scientific research collaboration, the hospital will exert its exemplary and leading role in the region, elevate the overall diagnosis and treatment standard across South China, establish a standardized clinical service system with regional characteristics, and provide higher-quality medical care for patients.
