On September 9, a voluntary blood donation vehicle parked quietly outside the Emergency and Obstetrics & Gynecology Department of Bao'an Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The red slogan "Love Passes On, Walk With You All the Way" on the vehicle stood out prominently in the sunlight. To address the urgent shortage of clinical blood inventory and guarantee patient treatment needs, the hospital carefully organized the Medical Staff Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign. Medical workers across the hospital interpreted the responsibility of medical practitioners with practical actions, safeguarding lives with warm blood.

As a public welfare tradition upheld for 14 consecutive years, the campaign received an enthusiastic response from all staff right after its launch. Hospital leaders took the lead to approach the blood donation vehicle. While checking registration information with medical staff through the window, their calm and resolute demeanor instantly enlivened the atmosphere.

"This is the 14th time we have organized such an event, and we feel everyone’s passion every year," one hospital leader said with a smile to colleagues while rolling up his sleeves to board the vehicle. "We usually guard patients in consulting rooms, and today we carry on this sense of responsibility in another way." Their exemplary role inspired staff members to take an active part in the campaign one after another.

Soon, an orderly queue formed around the blood donation vehicle. Doctors and nurses in white coats came during their breaks. Some had just finished surgeries without having time to take off their masks; others still held medical records, planning to return to ward rounds immediately after donation. Everyone boarded the vehicle in order and completed registration, physical examination and blood collection under professional guidance. Inside the vehicle, the scent of disinfectant blended with warmth. Every carefully sealed bag of blood embodied medical workers’ reverence for life.

"Emergency and obstetric departments often face urgent cases requiring blood transfusion. The blood we donate may be used to save patients at any moment," said a doctor after donation, gently pressing the needle site with heartfelt relief.

From early morning till dusk, the blood donation vehicle outside the Emergency and Obstetrics & Gynecology Department remained busy. A total of 86 staff members participated in the campaign, donating 24,600 milliliters of blood in aggregate. The donation served as timely support for clinical treatment. More importantly, it passed on medical professionals’ dedication and kindness, becoming the warmest scene in the hospital.
