The Pediatric Growth & Development Section is a specialty of Pediatrics and Child Healthcare, and also an important bridging department in the pediatric system. It mainly monitors the physical development (body length/height, weight, head circumference and other physical indicators) of children aged 0–18, and conducts developmental screening on children’s gross motor, fine motor, language and social skills to detect deviations and abnormalities in physical and psychological development at an early stage. It provides appropriate health promotion for normal children, health promotion guidance for borderline children, and timely referral for children with abnormalities.
Guidance is provided according to the characteristics of children’s growth and development to correct developmental deviations in a timely manner. It provides guidance on nutrition and feeding for infants and young children, corrects dietary behavior problems, manages food intolerance and food allergies, and detects nutritional anemia, malnutrition (wasting, underweight, stunting), and short stature at an early stage. It carries out mental and psychological developmental screening, provides early intervention, and refers cases in a timely manner when problems are found. It works closely with Neonatology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Child Psychology, and Rehabilitation Department for timely patient referral, so as to protect the physical and mental health of children aged 0–18.

Children’s vision and refraction screening, bone mineral density test, body composition analysis, bone age assessment.
Blood routine test, liver function test, vitamin D level monitoring and various biochemical examinations.
Growth monitoring and developmental assessment; feeding and nutrition guidance; treatment of common nutritional diseases (anemia, malnutrition, stunting, etc.); guidance on prevention of common childhood diseases; comprehensive early childhood development guidance including accidental injuries; and health care for children from school age to adolescence.
