The Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) Dept was founded at the inception of the hospital. It is a comprehensive department integrating clinical service, teaching and research with specialized medical characteristics. The annual outpatient volume exceeds 56,000 visits, with nearly 2,000 operations performed annually. The department has 15 inpatient beds and a total of 28 medical and nursing staff, including 2 senior professional title holders, 9 intermediate professional title holders, 3 resident physicians, 1 audiologist and 13 nurses.
Academic Leader: Director Gao Jinliang, Master of Otorhinolaryngology from Guangzhou Medical University. Gao Jinliang has been engaged in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for nearly 20 years, with rich clinical experience in complicated and severe pediatric ENT cases. Dr.Gao performs over 1,000 cases of low-temperature plasma tonsil and adenoid surgery annually, and is a well-known expert in pediatric snoring treatment in China. Dr.Gao currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Otorhinolaryngology Committee of Shenzhen Bao’an Medical Association and Standing Member of the Provincial Ear Endoscopy Committee.
To better serve patients, the department has established three specialized diagnosis and treatment centers:
Sleep Disordered Breathing Center
Equipped with sleep monitoring devices and plasma ablation systems, the center provides comprehensive sleep assessment. It performs minimally invasive surgeries including low-temperature plasma ablation of tonsils and adenoids, and soft palatoplasty for pediatric snoring.
Endoscopy Center
Equipped with high-definition endoscopes and electronic nasopharyngoscopes specially designed for children, the center offers non-invasive, painless, rapid and safer examination for infants and young children. It can observe tiny structures in the ear, nose and throat, detect early lesions, and perform treatment, biopsy and removal of various foreign bodies under endoscopy.
Various minimally invasive endoscopic surgeries are performed for epistaxis, rhinitis, sinusitis, nasal septum deviation, nasal polyps, nasal and sinus tumors, vocal cord polyps, laryngeal papilloma and other diseases.
Hearing Center
A specialized ear clinic is set up, equipped with hearing examination rooms, high-definition ear endoscopes and microscopic surgical equipment. It provides hearing diagnosis and treatment for various deafness diseases, including minimally invasive tympanic membrane repair, ossicular chain reconstruction, cochlear implantation for bilateral profound deafness, surgery for secretory otitis media, middle ear cholesteatoma and ear tumors.
