The Surgical Anesthesiology Dept of Shenzhen Bao'an Women's and Children's Hospital is committed to the development of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, providing safe, painless and comfortable perioperative medical services for all surgical patients. As a first-class clinical discipline, the department currently has 35 staff members, including 1 Chief Physician, 7 Associate Chief Physicians, and 9 Anesthesia Nurses, with 1 Master Supervisor.
Academic Leader: Yan Xuetao, Chief Physician, Master Supervisor, PhD in Anesthesiology from Wuhan University. Yan Xuetao has been engaged in clinical anesthesia, teaching and scientific research for 20 years. Dr.Yan is currently a Standing Member of the Shenzhen Anesthesia Society, Shenzhen Anesthesiologists Association, and the Anesthesiology and Analgesia Committee of Guangdong Maternal and Child Health Association.
The clinical services of the department include preoperative evaluation and anesthesia consultation in Anesthesia Clinic, anesthesia and resuscitation in the operating room, treatment of acute postoperative pain and anesthesia-related problems, out-of-operating-room anesthesia and comfortable medical services, anesthesia resuscitation and monitoring in the Day Ward, etc.
The department currently has 14 central operating rooms, including 1 Class 100 laminar flow operating room and 13 Class 10,000 laminar flow operating rooms, with 7 beds in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Each operating room is equipped with Drager anesthesia machine, Philips multi-parameter monitor, difficult airway management equipment and patient warming system.
Focusing on clinical anesthesia, the department also provides emergency treatment and resuscitation for critically ill patients and pain treatment for the whole hospital. Centering on maternal and pediatric anesthesia, the department vigorously develops subspecialty anesthesia, and actively promotes the construction of a painless hospital and the concept of comfortable medical treatment.
At present, the department undertakes anesthesia for clinical operations and examinations in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Pediatric General Surgery, Orthopedics, Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Gastroscopy Room, Induced Abortion Room, Reproductive Health Dept, etc. It has formed its own characteristics in anesthesia for critically ill obstetric and pediatric patients, perioperative monitoring and treatment, labor analgesia, etc.
Visualized and refined anesthesia operation and management: The department has introduced a number of advanced portable ultrasound machines for ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve block, vascular puncture and circulatory function monitoring in critically ill patients. Visual intubation technology, target-controlled infusion of anesthetics, anesthesia depth monitoring and cerebral oximetry monitoring have achieved accurate clinical operation and refined anesthesia management, reduced perioperative complications, and ensured the comfort and safety of patients during the perioperative period.
