Since the launch of the public welfare book project "Book Fragrance for Women and Children, Warmth for Children’s Hearts" — a distinctive Party-building brand of the Third Party Branch of Shenzhen Bao'an Women's and Children's Hospital — on July 1, this unique and heartwarming space on the first floor of the outpatient building has become a beautiful scenery in the hospital with profound Party-building culture and warm parent-child reading atmosphere. Committed to the practice of "One Branch, One Feature", the project not only provides a safe haven for children during medical treatment, easing anxiety and unease through the warmth of books, but also converges the spirit of the Party and love, conveying positive energy and further enhancing the Party spirit of Party members.
The bookshelves are filled with various children’s books donated by the public. These books not only enrich the collection of the book corner but also offer children and parents access to excellent readings. Meanwhile, Party spirit books on the shelves enable Party members to gain spiritual improvement under the influence of the glorious history of the Party. Going forward, facilities of the book corner will be continuously improved, including a photo wall and a message wall, to further spread warmth and love.
Under the strong guidance of the Hospital Party Committee, all Party members of the Third Party Branch took the lead in donating books, creating a lively and warm atmosphere. The power of example is fully reflected in the actions of Party members, and the warmth of being loved is truly felt from the eyes of children on site. Sowing the seeds of knowledge for children not only strongly supports the development of the book corner but also vividly embodies the convergence of the spirit of the Party and love. This act of kindness tempers the Party spirit of Party members and greatly strengthens their sense of responsibility and mission.
To date, the book corner has achieved remarkable results: volunteer service has reached 148 person-times with a cumulative service duration of 310 hours, serving more than 2,694 people. In addition, about 1,500 donated books have been received, with on-site borrowing reaching 3,560 person-times and 311 books lent free of charge. These figures demonstrate the extensive influence of the project, interpret the essence of "serving the people" with concrete actions, further temper the Party spirit of Party members, and enhance their awareness of service and dedication.
