To advance high-quality development of health care in Bao’an District, improve discipline development across medical and health institutions, and build an open and in-depth research exchange platform for young scholars, the 3rd Session of Bao’an District "Researcher Café" Youth Scholars Salon was successfully held on the afternoon of July 17 at Bao’an District Bay Area Smart Port. The event was hosted by the Working Committee of the Communist Youth League of Bao’an District Health Bureau and organized by the Communist Youth League Committee of Shenzhen Bao'an Women's and Children's Hospital. Distinguished guests included Dr. Shi Huifeng, Associate Researcher of Peking University Third Hospital, and Dr. Wang Guanlin, Young Researcher of Fudan University, who provided academic guidance. A large number of young research scholars attended the event.

At the beginning of the event, Dr. Shi Huifeng delivered a special presentation entitled Improving the Value of Clinical Research. With rich clinical experience and solid theoretical expertise, Dr. Shi explained the importance of clinical research in medical practice in an accessible way. Using practical cases, he elaborated on how to design and conduct high-quality clinical research and emphasized that rigorous and reliable research data are critical to medical advancement. Dr. Shi also highlighted that describing current conditions is more meaningful than searching for causes; clinical research should shift from population probability to individual probability, and from causal inference to ultimate goals. His informative and well-structured speech resonated deeply with the audience and inspired reflective thinking.

Subsequently, Dr. Wang Guanlin gave a presentation entitled From Bench to Bioinformatics. Focusing on cutting-edge bioinformatics research, Dr. Wang introduced the translation process from bench research to bioinformatics, and explained data processing and analysis methods in modern medical research in detail. Combining personal research experience, she deeply analyzed applications of computational biology, genomics and related fields in medical research, as well as approaches to data collection and mining using bioinformatics tools and public databases. Her cutting-edge lecture, filled with innovative viewpoints and practical techniques, opened new horizons for participants in identifying problems and exploring research directions.

After the expert presentations, a face-to-face interactive session was hosted by Dr. Chen Xiaoyan, Director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Institute of Shenzhen Bao'an Women's and Children's Hospital. Scholars actively raised questions, and experts provided patient and detailed responses. The atmosphere was engaging and dynamic with inspiring academic exchanges. Participants held in-depth discussions on practical clinical research operations, project application, team collaboration and other topics, and greatly benefited from the professional guidance.

A real-time online interactive session was specially arranged. Participants shared comments, introduced themselves and interacted via a QR code, enhancing close communication among all attendees.

This "Researcher Café" Youth Scholars Salon not only offered a valuable platform for young researchers to share and exchange ideas, but also injected new vitality into the development of medical and health services in Bao’an District. In the future, Bao’an District will continue to organize similar activities to further promote academic exchanges and cooperation, support the growth of young scholars, and make greater contributions to regional health care development.
